What inspired you to pursue a career in the rail sector?

My inspiration came from the growing technological development in the rail sector in Mexico. Today, I am pleased to be involved in the commissioning of the rolling stock of the Toluca and Maya trains, as well as the development and implementation of the MOSES instrumentation project on the Toluca train.

How did you join Sener?

I got to know Sener during the Tren Maya project, while I represented the client. When I saw their technical capacity, the expertise of their specialists, their participation in various projects, and their extensive experience in all areas of specialisation, I was excited about the idea of joining Sener. And so it was—I was able to apply my experience to continue growing alongside them in tackling great challenges.

What business area do you belong to, and what do you do? What is your day-to-day life like?

I work in the Communications and Rolling Stock Business Area. I supervise the installation of the MOSES system instrumentation on the Mexico-Toluca intercity train, both on the track and in the tunnel at night. I also manage permits and releases for the instrumentation, as well as the supervision and work of our contractors. During the day, I oversee the testing of rolling stock for commissioning on the Mexico-Toluca train and participate in technical consultations for the terms of reference for the maintenance of the Mexico-Toluca intercity train.

What has been your progression since you joined Sener?

Since joining Sener, I have been involved in the development, implementation, and supervision of the projects I am currently working on.

My most important projects are:

• Collaboration in the development of the Terms of Reference for the maintenance of the Mexico-Toluca Intercity train.

• Implementation of the MOSES system instrumentation on the Mexico-Toluca intercity train.

• Supervision and commissioning of the rolling stock of the Mexico-Toluca Intercity train.

How do you think the projects you work on influence the world or society today and in the future?

The projects I participate in drive the development of new technologies that will be implemented in Mexico and beyond. As pioneers of the MOSES system—a novel project developed exclusively for Sener railway projects in Mexico—we are paving the way for its implementation globally. This will enhance railway systems worldwide, providing greater safety and advancements in monitoring and SCADA systems.

How do you keep up to date with general knowledge and trends in your sector?

I analyse new railway developments, review improvements to existing implementations, and stay informed about updates to railway and communications regulations. I also undertake ongoing training to keep current with communications and railway systems.

In your opinion, what distinguishes Sener from its competitors?

I have been fortunate enough to have worked on various projects with competing companies, and what sets us apart is the multidisciplinary experience of our constantly updated specialists, which allows us to carry out engineering, supervision and technical consultancy work.

What new challenges do you see yourself working on in the medium term?

I would like to implement instrumentation in a railway project in different geographies and engineering for rolling stock with new technologies adapted from Mexico for global applications.
